This is a professional Community Health Nursing Director position requiring independent work skills in supervising Community Health Nursing Programs in the areas of policy, program analysis and development, operations, budget, strategic planning, annual reports and evaluations.¬ Supervises and directs nursing education and employee health¬ programs and staff to include nursing and support staff.

  • Organizes the nursing division to provide for a functional structure and established relationships among personnel. Develops the organizations charts, writes position descriptions, and organizes committees to facilitate the attainment of nursing program objectives including all program evaluations. Directs the recruitment, employment, promotions, separations from service and other personnel actions with the nursing division.

  • Establishes guidelines for work assignments of nursing personnel.¬  Assigns nursing staff members to duties at which they are competent and which they are legally authorized to perform.¬  Utilizes nursing practice standards to monitor the nursing practice of professional and ancillary personnel to assure the delivery of quality nursing services.

  • Directs the maintenance of an acceptable system of recording and reporting. Promotes and plans for a work environment conducive to safe and efficient client services that meets all DOH and OSHA Guidelines.

  • Participates in the preparation of the CHD budget and administers the approved nursing budget.¬  Assists in developing an annual spending plan for the approved nursing budget.¬  Provides reports to nursing sections responsible for administering their portion of the budget and closely monitors the nursing spending plans for compliance.

  • Provides for staff developments by promoting opportunity for continuing education and learning experiences to ensure the nursing staff's knowledge and competence is current.

  • Contributes to the general improvement of DOH client serves:¬  Participates in area and statewide task forces; reports problems in the delivery of health services and emerging problems of trends in the delivery of health services to the¬  CHD Administrator.

  • Coordinates and integrates nursing activities with the total public health programs and encourages nursing personnel to serve on agency and community committees.


¬ 



  • Provides nursing leadership in the area of disaster preparedness. Plans, organizes and coordinates services in times of disaster.¬  Participates with other community leaders on Special Needs Task Force and Medical Subcommittees as needed and authorized by the CHD Administrator.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISOR DUTIES:¬ Incumbent will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.

In-Service/Staff Development:¬  Participate in workshops, meetings, seminars and in-service and staff development programs related to job performance that include but are not limited to program planning, evaluation, and implementation.

OTHER RELATED DUTIES:¬  Duties as assigned and delegated by supervisor.


¬ 


Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.¬  Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
