Senior Project Manager

Overview / Responsibilities
Amec Foster Wheeler Power & Process is seeking a Senior Project Manager with 15 years of experience to support our Power O&M Group by managing large, complex industrial power and Pulp & Paper projects. These projects typically require coordination of a large number of inter-related tasks and management of multi-disciplinary technical teams and subcontractors. Project size varies from $5 to $50M. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, team-building and stakeholder management skills. The individual will have a proven track record of pursuing and executing industrial power and pulp & paper business projects at commercial facilities.

AL preferred (Other Amec Foster Wheeler E&I office locations on the east coast may be considered as well)
Key Responsibilities
Manage project resources, schedule and budget
Prepare proposals for large Power and pulp & paper project pursuits
Ensure proper implementation of project safety and quality assurance programs and corporate policies and procedures
Work directly with senior-level personnel in interpreting the actual needs of individual clients
Determine required scope and level of effort of project work including the degree of completeness and precision to which project elements should be addressed
Coordinate site activities with Amec Foster Wheeler staff, contractors, subcontractors, agency personnel and client representatives
Exercise independent professional judgment not subject to close review
Maintain a high level of communications skill
Demonstrate a high level of competence in directing and managing large multi-disciplined projects
Provide technical direction to and mentors subordinate staff
Responsible for ensuring the Firm's administrative and financial policies and procedures as well as the methods and procedures specific to his / her specific discipline are followed
Represent Amec Foster Wheeler and interact in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives while on field assignments
Understand, apply and oversee safety requirements in the field
May travel frequently to project sites including sites remote from the office as part of on-site team
Capable of providing an effective Quality Assurance / Quality Control role in his / her technical discipline
Effective at representing the firm in verbal presentations to clients
Meet with client representatives at the direction of more senior personnel, and conduct his / herself in a manner compatible with the firm's professional standards and financial goals
Capable of preparing moderate to large sized multi-disciplined technical and price proposals for clients
Other duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in related discipline preferred
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience and management responsibility with at least 10 years directly leading construction projects
Experience with implementation of Power and Pulp & Paper projects
Experience leading field staff, laborers, equipment operators and other personnel on projects
Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and team-building skills
Ability to establish effective working relationships with subcontractors required
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
Ability to bring in business and pursue business development for the SE region
Formal project management training and PMP certification desirable

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
